Greenbelt Multi Services Limited has designed and delivered a diverse portfolio of community development projects in Ghana since 2013. From WASH projects in remote villages to infrastructure development and governance advocacy campaigns, our work translates into real improvements in health, education and economic opportunity.
Historical Projects & Assignments
Water & Sanitation (1994 – 2002)
- 1994: Facilitated water projects in Asuadei, Asunafo North District (CWSA-funded)
- 1995: Installed standpipes at Busunya, Nkoranza North District and a VIP sanitation facility at Asuadei (CWSA-funded)
- 1996: Constructed a CWSP pit latrine at Nyamebekyere
- 2000: Drilled a borehole at Ayomso (CWSA-funded)
- 2002: Trained 15 community leaders and 6 DWST members in Techiman Municipality on CWS maintenance
ActionAid Ghana Partnership (1998 – 2002)
- 1998: Formed 16 Community Reflect Circles for literacy and development discussions
- 1999: Established AIDS Action Clubs in three senior high schools (OLA Girls, Acherensua, Hwidiem)
- 2000: Created Community Adult Peer Educators (CAPE) on HIV/AIDS in 11 communities
- 2000: Built six classroom blocks and supplied furniture (Ohiatua Primary, Goamu Koforidua, Yaw Brefo)
- 2001: Donated 427 math and 333 English textbooks to 13 primary schools in Asutifi
- 2002: Provided 350 dual desks and 50 teacher tables/chairs to five schools; constructed a six-bedroom teachers’ quarters for Mehame
Education & Literacy (1997 – 2002)
Girl Child Education (1997 – 1999)
- Launched three-year “Enhancing Girl Child Education” campaign in Asutifi District (FAWE & ACAFE partnership)
- Constructed two girl-child libraries in Kenyase and Hwidiem, Asutifi District
Health & Community Campaigns (1999 – 2000)
- Ran two-year Community Health Campaign in Asunafo & Asutifi Districts with Ghana Health Service, covering:
- Buruli ulcer prevention
- Childhood immunizations for six killer diseases
- Water-borne disease awareness
- Eye health and breast cancer screening
- Health and hygiene education
Business Development Advocacy (2005 – 2007)
- 2005: Removed sociocultural barriers to women’s entrepreneurship (Diamond FM, Tamale)
- 2006: Elevated domestic servant work as job creation (Success 90.9 FM, Goaso)
- 2006: Preserved private road transport (GPRTU, TUC Goaso)
- 2006: Enforced Section 10 of Local Government Act 462 (Butchers Association, Sunyani)
- 2006: Ended state neglect of private schools (GNAPS, Brong Ahafo)
- 2006: Secured formal recognition for traditional medicine (Federation of Traditional Medicine, B/A)
- 2006: Advocated land access for farmers (Krabonso Ginger Farmers Association)
- 2006: Standardized NABH apprenticeship curriculum (Beauticians & Hairdressers Association, Asunafo)
- 2007: Saved the distressed cotton industry (Cotton Growers Association, Tamale)
- 2007: Advocated lay-by provision for taxis (GPRTU Taxi Branch, Sunyani)
- 2007: Bridged technological gaps for mechanics (Eureka Garages Association, Techiman)
- 2007: Gained environmental recognition for chainsaw operators (Brong Ahafo Chainsaw Operators Association)
Infrastructure & Capacity Building (2008 – 2017)
- 2008 – 2017: Capacity training of Town, Zonal and Area Councils in Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions (sponsored by E. Osei & Associates/DDF)
- 2016: Local Economic Development Project in partnership with United Cities and Local Government of Africa and Arkansas Municipal League (UCLGA/Arkansas Municipal League Partnership)
Child Rights (2002)
- 2002 (UNICEF Partnership): Formed and nurtured Child Rights Clubs in six senior secondary schools in the Brong Ahafo Region
